You have two options to go when you find diy alarm system. There are hardwires and wireless system. Which one is the cheaper? Of course, hardwire system is cheaper than wireless. The wireless system is easy and simple to install by all people. Moreover, you can add your own preference sensor such as smoke detectors, glass breaking sensor, and so on. The hardwire is cheaper but you have to do something to hide it such as pushing it trough your walls, crawl spaces, and so on.
